Regulatory Board of PDO Valencia gathers 13,000 vine hectares divided in four subzones: Alto Turia, Moscatel, Valentino y Clariano.
Different grapes, some of them native, are used to make wine. The average annual production is 650,000 hectolitres and half of our 93 wineries bottle their own production. About 85% of wine makers are grouped in cooperatives.
Viticulture sector is very important for the province economy and represents the main business for a lot of villages due to its social and cultural importance.
Wines protected by the Designation of Origin Valencia are produced with native and authorised grapes, combining techniques to meet the organoleptic requirements of the Regulatory Board services.
